Photography
I use an old Nikon FE2 camera, which I have had for nearly twenty years now. It
is the first camera I ever bought! I really know it well which helps when you only
have one chance to get the shot – in the bush the action is instant and there are
no repeats or second chances. I’ve always said that when my camera breaks down I
will throw it away but it just keeps going. Recently, I acquired a backup camera,
a Nikon F100.
I am a real opportunist when it comes to my photography. I just drive around and
photograph what I see. I never sit in one spot for hours waiting for the perfect
shot.
Photography is a very personal pastime. I take photographs for my own enjoyment.
Over the years I have built a photo library comprising more than 10 000 photographs
– from animals, to scenic, to people, to lodges. These are used on front covers,
to illustrate articles and by companies in their advertising, in their brochures
and on their web pages.
